c h a n g e

Now, something brought this on, and I seriously don't know what, but I feel it important enough to stick on here so I never lose it:

CHANGE

Change is something that is constant effect. It is ever flowing; growing and shifting. Change is for the best, for the worst. Change makes the world round. It grabs our attention. It captures our thoughts, our souls our life in general. There is no life without change. Change is inviolable, incredible and horrifying. Change will touch our hearts, or cut us into pieces. We can’t stop it, we can’t control it and there is no way to monitor it.
Change is the world, the world is our home and our home is where our hearts are. If we change our hearts, we change the world and then maybe we’ll grasp a hold of the force known as change.

There.

Scrap Writing

A bit of scrap writing I thought I would share. Originally written on my cousin's blackberry out of sheer boredom whilst I was in New York City back in April. I've added stuff since then, but have no intention of finishing.....I think.

She sat up straight in her bed. Quickly scrambling out she threw a thick sweater over her flimsy nightgown. She rushed out of the building and walked out into the cool night air. Her bare feet padded the cement in a soft rhythm gaining momentum as they got closer to the lake. The lake. She knew that she was looking for a lake. She followed the sound of flowing water, completely unaware of her actions.
Her eyes came upon a large lake. The rushing water was busting over sharp jagged rocks, following a steady line of trees guiding a pathway down stream.
Closing her eyes she walked back to the place where the nightmares took place. In a smooth motion she grabbed the edge of her sweater and yanked it off. Feeling an overwhelming heat taking over she jumped into lake, a gleaming steady flow of horror waiting to happen. She felt herself being pulled deeper and deeper within the depths of the lake. She was drowning. Suddenly she felt the quick motion of seaweed wrap around her ankle and yank her further down into the unknown. By now she was unconscious. She was as still as if she was a slab of carved marble. Her skin was glowing a gold hue and erased all flaw within her complexion. She was perfect. She was dead. And her soul, belonged to them.
--

“Is she ready?” the youngest moaned.

“Yeah, is she done yet? I wanna see her!” The other girl asked.

The older man sighed, “Kye, Astliya, please. I don’t know when they will be finished with her. She has just entered.”

“Do you know her name Hawke?” asked Kye.

He straightened his back, “Her human name was Isabelle I think.”

“I like that name, Isabelle. It sounds pretty. We should keep it!” Kye suggested.

“If you want to.” Said Hawke.

Astliya looked over to a mirror across the room. She caught her reflection. Her skin glowed a healthy blue, her face flawless. Her white eyes were small her nose was pointed straight forward, just like Hawke and Kye. They all looked alike. Although Kye had larger eyes and a bigger mouth, they all looked the same pretty much. She took a few strands of her black hair and twisted the soft strands in-between them, tapping her bare foot in a steady rhythm. Her sister looked over to her, and began to mimic her tapping foot. She also took her hair and began to twist it within her fingers.

The door opened and a tall woman came out. She was glowing a light blue, signs of tiredness. “Well girls, it looks like you’ve found a rare gem here. Her human name’s Isabelle Ryes. Tegar summoned her, but she wasn’t dead. She survived the whirlwinds of the lake it seems.”

The three looked confused. You couldn’t be living and here in this world. It wasn’t possible. The doctor saw this look and explained further, “What I mean is, she didn’t have a choice like the rest of us did. She was brought here against her will.”

“Well, that’s okay! This place is better than wherever she was supposed to go right?” Kye asked.

“I don’t know. I will need to speak to Tegar before I do anything else to her. Her skin will not commit to our degrees. She’s still got the golden glow.”

Astliya frowned, “So we can’t see her?”

“Not yet.” Replied the doctor.

“But we found her!” Kye injected.

“I know, but you’ll just have to be patient, why don’t you guys go back to headquarters?” the doctor suggested.

“It’s boring there.” Kye whined.

“Boring? Don’t you have homework form Combat?” Hawke said.

Kye huffed, “Yeah, but I don’t wanna do that, its boring.”

“Combat isn’t that boring.” Astliya murmured.

“It is though!” Kye shot back, “All we do is worksheets on what ifs and then we have to train. I hate training.”

The room filled with a chuckle.

“Don’t worry Kye, you’ll enjoy it soon, I promise.” Said Hawke.

“Will I Liya?” She asked her sister.

Hawke and the doctor gave her a look, “Of course Kye, it’s such a good skill to learn, and you should be practicing.” She said.

Hawke stood up, “Alright then, lets go. Thank you for all your help. We’ll be back in a few days for an update.”

Kye’s eyes widened, “A few days? Can’t we come tomorrow?”

“Liya’s battle is tomorrow sweetie, we can’t.” He told her.

“Then why do I have to go?” she whined.

“End of discussion Kye.”

“Hmph. You’re a mean brother.” Kye whispered.

He laughed. “It’s for the best sweetie. Don’t question it.”

--
Her mind was slowly coming back. Her conscious developing-- memories restoring. She saw flashes of flames, and she could feel the heat. Her eyes scanned the room for them. She heard them screaming for her. She couldn’t move. Her body was stiff and was heavy. More screaming, more pleading. This scared her. They were trapped and she couldn’t save them. Then it was silent, and she was mortified.

The doctor walked back into the room. She was shaking violently, and was screaming out names. She walked over to the cabinet and pulled out a syringe filled with a dark purple liquid. She sterilized it and injected it into her thigh and she calmed down again.

She trashed the used needle and walked over to the polar wall. She dragged her fingers over it and a large screen appeared. “Connect me to Tegar Lyre.” She commanded.

“Transferring. Transferring complete.” Replied the wall.

Tegar’s limp head appeared on the screen, “Doctor Quelle, What seems to be the matter? I am in the middle of a discussion with the Board.”

“Why did you summon Isabelle Ryes?” She demanded.

“What?”

“Don’t act stupid Lyre. I know you summoned her. Why? She still has fifteen years left within her lifespan. What the hell is wrong with you?” She spat.

He was silent. “I am sorry doctor. I know what I did was wrong, but it was necessary that she was here at this present time.”

She crossed her arms and sat on top of the counter top, “And why is it so necessary?”

He cleared his throat, “She is the mother of Hawke and the girls, correct?”

“Yes, that is correct, but what does that have to do with her being here?”

“Doctor, Hawke, Astliya and Kye are very interesting subjects, as you know.”

Boy did she know. They came about three years ago. Hawke the oldest at fourteen, Astliya was seven and Kye was just over a year. They shaped the universe like no other. Although their memories were altered, all three of them were highly intelligent, and possessed a strength that no one could process. It was fascinating to the doctors of the small and budding universe, but no one dared to bring them in and study them, for Hawke was highly protective of the girls, and wouldn’t let anyone touch them. He killed five percent of the universe’s researches who tried to approach them. Doctor Quelle accepted this, and helped them move into large apartment and convinced Hawke to let the girls enter schooling. Astliya at eight surpassed the curriculum within a month, and Kye was on the same track when she entered at three. Hawke worked for the System and if it wasn’t for the Board, would be running the universe. Interesting subjects indeed, “Mhmm. Go on.”

He paused, and then started back, “I thought it would be necessary to research why the three are so powerful. It has to do with their birth. And their mother was the only way in studying that.”

“So what were you going to do? Dissect her?”

“Of course not! Merely to study her here, and maybe create more…powerful beings.” He said slowly, anticipating an agreement.

“Are you suggesting that you brought her here, alive, for her to produce more children?” Doctor Quelle asked, as if it was the stupidest idea ever suggested.

He made an uneasy face, knowing his battle was lost, “In a nutshell, yes.”

“Are you insane Lyre?!” She yelled.

He was quite taken back, “Pardon?”

“She can not have children here you moron! She is a human! Why did you waste a human? She had a life, and a home! You had absolutely no right to do this to her. I am personally going to see to this that you come off the Board.”

“You can’t do that!” He injected.

Doctor Quelle smirked, “Oh yes I can. In the meantime, I will nurse Ryes to a standard level of life. She will have her memory removed and will have to continue to live here.”

“And who are you to make those decisions?” He spat.

“Astliya and Kye found her, and Kye has taken a great interest in her. We do not want to upset her now do we?” she asked, as if the answer was obvious.

He remained quiet, knowing the effects that Kye could implant onto the universe if she wanted.

“Good. Pack your belongings, and come to the lab. I will fix this mistake.” She said determined.
